The Truth about Gravel Mining

IT’S NOT ALL BAD!

Regardless of what you may have been told, gravel removal from the Russian River is not harmful to fish. In fact, the present plan proposed by Syar for Alexander Valley will benefit fish. The present plan has had input from both private and government biologists.

Because high gravel bars divert the river’s flow into the opposite banks, thousands of tons of silt are washed into the river each winter. How can we have a clean river when these conditions prevail? Gravel removal will not completely solve this problem, but it will certainly help.

The Geyserville Bridge is about to wash out again!  Should this be repaired at the taxpayer’s expense, or should we let private enterprise do it at no cost to us?

We need your help!
